Post feedRice Krispies: Beyond the Delicious Cereal
I wandered the cereal isle last night trying to find the right product to get me started in the mornings. I was there about ten minutes. This is an important decision in my eyes since breakfast happens to be the most important meal of the day, and I am trying to give up having full throttle for breakfast every morning. It's not the healthiest choice.I picked up a box of Rice Krispies, and looked at the back of the box to see what kind of free toy would be involved to sway my decision to make the purchase and close the deal when I stumbled across an advertisement for Autism.
I've had numerous questions about the logo on my blog and the various ways I advertise autism (shirts, wristbands, stickers, etc). My 3 year old son Jaxon was diagnosed with Autism late last year. At age 2, we could tell he was no longer progressing with his peers. He seemed to have lost progress already made, no longer enjoying the things that made him happy, and was no longer connecting with us. The doctors told us that "boys develop slower." We didn't know the cause of all this but immediately enrolled him in a local childrens program to help move him along and meet his needs as a child. He was in this program about 9 months with other kids in his condition. Finally one of the mothers mentioned "Autism." It was what her child had who acted very similar to Jaxon. The school had not mentioned anything about Autism to us since it is not their place to diagnose nor make any recommendations. However when asked, Jaxons therapist endorsed Autism as the likely cause of his emotional and social issues. Thats when our journey began.
It has been about a generous year and a half since we discovered Jaxons condition. We have studied it inside and out reading most books, websites, message boards, etc. that we could get our hands on. Jaxon has been enrolled in various schools, we have employed several therapists to work with him everyday, put him on special diets, medications, you name it. With everything we are doing with him we are starting to see amazing progress in him daily that would have never been possible had we not become familiar with Autism and its symptoms. He is undergoing bio-medical treatments right now that should be the biggest step for him in his recovery. We have done everything we can and will continue to do everything in our power to help him function and to give him whatever he needs emotionally, physically, and spiritually. As his parents we want him to know how much love we have for him and the support we offer him.
Autism is an epidemic. It is growing at a rampant rate. I'm sure you have seen a few commercials about it recently and it is finally getting the press that it deserves. 1 in 166 is the most recent statistic. This is why I advertise. If only 1 parent reads this and a light goes off for them that this might be a problem in their family, it was an advertisement worth it's weight in gold. I know this post de-rails from the traditional talk of trading, but Autism has absorbed much of my time, energy, and resources it gives me an opportunity to talk about it. You should contact Donna Gates (google her name), she specializes in helping children with Autism and is an expert on the subject. I had some serious health issues and I was able to completely turnaround my life and health because of the principles that she writes about in her books. Also, www.westonaprice.org is a great source of solid health related information.
On a trading note, I was trying to get filled on a spread on the SPX today and my order did not got filled, even though my limit was within .05 of the bid with a 1.10 spread betw. the bid and ask!!!!! It just sat there for 15 minutes or so without getting filled. Even though I have only been trading a short while, that seems crazy that I would not get filled on that, a nickel on 8 contracts! What the? Is that normal? I hear everyone saying split the bid/ask and should be fine.

Jeff, I'm glad to learn about your blog. Not sure if you remember me but you and I spoke on the phone a couple times. My good friend Bradley Howard told me about your blog. Hang in there on the trading roller coaster. As for your son...I'm sorry to hear about the circumstances but I trust that with the little bit I know about your character you clearly come across as someone who will be the difference maker in the productivity of your son. However, not to bring religion into your blog I would like to mention that the biggest difference maker will be our great Lord God in Heaven. Just wanted to say I appreciate you as a person for taking time with me in the past with teaching me to trade better but more importantly I want you to know I am going to incorporate your son into my prayers and I know great things are ahead for you and your family. Sometimes God hands the tough assignments to those with the character and drive to handle it. My friend, this time he picked you. Stay positive and know people support you. I'll talk to you soon.

As we follow you BLOG and information within, we actually took a step back on Friday and thought about the important things in life. Rich the person above, one is a great friend and a true friend. We are going through some family health issues now. Friends and mentor's are hard to come by. I just want to say that Jennifer and I support you, and your family. The charictics like I have explained in past emails about you will bring you and everyone else around you up, meaning bringing the family up to the level of great surprise. That is what all good leaders do, home or work. After Jennifer and I(Bradley) read the post, the question was, did we get something from the post? The answer is yes. Nothing to do with the trade, but what was going on in someone else lives then our owns. That is what is important, and we truly believe that friends and family, and organizations that spend there time and effort finding answers mean the world to the sick, and to there family's. Jennifer and I are going to start giving to the same foundation. Jennifer has a friend that has Altisism, and we truly understand what it is, and what it can do. Jennifer and I will continue to give support, as the same to my friend above, Rich. The importance is not about how much money someone has, or what someone might gain. It's all about emotions, and feelings and the emotions about other people and there families. I honor you in the hard work you do through investors, the Blog, and balancing family situations. It takes someone very strong and determined to climb higher! Again we will give all the support we can. Thanks so much for your post on Friday, not to gain, but to realize that everyone has problems, and what can others do to help!
